Da Capo, Layered

There is something definitely magical about technology. Although it is a man-made environment, when it starts processing the information fed into the system in different ways, it starts creating a new world that is only accessed through technology.

Da Capo, Layered is an interactive piece that visualizes the activity level of the space it is overseeing. There are eight levels to this installation and every seven seconds, the installation picks up the activity level of the environment the attached camera is monitoring, and transforms it to the output. The seven second intervals are shown on the monitor with the graphic that falls from top to bottom and as the levels ascend, the camera detects and outputs more areas on the screen and the output music gets an additional layer of sound.
